  Hi, I'm  Riley!

"I do many things.  I have many titles and labels.  I've been described as a total BAMF.  I've been told that I'm the perfect combination of trash and class.  I've been called good and bad and everything in between.  I live life in the fast lane and my rear-view mirror fell off miles ago.  I'm a high octane, full-throttle type of person; it's go big or go home with just about anything I do.  Yeah, my life's pretty fucked up sometimes, but I love myself and the people I choose to have around.  I'm kinda weird, too, though.  Like, I'm totally egotistical but at the same time I have a major lack of confidence.  I can be incredibly mature in certain situations, but I still make fart jokes and laugh when I see someone fall on their face.  I can be a cold-hearted bitch or compassionate and merciful depending on which version of me you get to know.

Whether you love me or hate me, I can almost

guarantee it's for the right reason."

Altering Perceptions.

Smashing Stereotypes.

Dropping Jaws.

Drinking Coffee.

When most people think of strippers, they think of abhorrently sleazy, classless, sex-driven drug fiends.  Maybe they think of home-wrecking whores, prostitutes, and repugnant, insolvent women dressed in fishnet stockings, ruining their lives for a few bucks.  I'm not saying that these women don't exist, because they do – trust me, I've worked with them – but I am telling you, that I'm nothing like that.  Anyone that's ever met me can easily attest to that.  I'm not trying to toot my own horn (not that I could, I sold it ages ago), I'm just telling you that I'm not what 99% of people think I am when they hear what I do – even other strippers themselves.

Why do strippers have such a bad rap?  Well, the same reason most groups of people get bad raps.  Think of politicians, people of Middle Eastern descent, or (most recently) law enforcement.  A lot of people have negative ideas when they think of one or more of these groups, and it's not always on purpose (I bet a lot of you did as you read that).  If you're not completely ignorant, you understand the fact that nowhere near 100% of people in these groups are bad people.  You might be surprised at how much you may actually have in common with some of them.  The reason that such sizable groups have negative connotations is because a few of them royally fucked things up for everyone else.  Not all politicians are corrupt, not all Middle Easterns are terrorists (or even Muslim), and not all cops are exactly what you get when you Google “cops are...”.  Are there some bad people in those groups?  Hell yeah there are; but there are also bad Christians, bad doctors, and bad humanitarians.  Bad people are everywhere – in groups or alone.  Psychologist Philip Zimbardo said, “The line between good and evil lies at the centre of every human heart.”.  Do not let the actions of one speak for them all.

Many of the girls I work with now are some of the nicest, smartest, most caring individuals I've ever met, and a lot of them are in serious, committed relationships.  The ones that aren't anything like that... well, they don't work there anymore.  I'm lucky that the club I work at is such a good place.  Our ladies, our staff, and our customers are absolutely amazing.  In light of recent events in my own personal life, these people have become my definition of family.  When someone asks me about my life and my family, I only think about those I truly consider family – my boyfriend, his family, and my club family.  We have a tight bond. We love and support each other. We're just one big, goofy, often naked group of people, bound by something that is far stronger than blood and DNA.

So why am I here?

Aw hell, idanno.  Do any of us really know why we're here?  Wait, where?  Woah.  It's getting a little profound in here.  I guess all I really want to do is educate, inform and inspire people.  I want to do great things, and I suppose this is a viable start.  I want to give outsiders a glimpse into stripper life, and how wildly different it is than most people care to put the effort in to figure out.  I'm no spokesperson or activist, and I'm far from the poster child of the adult industry.  That would be incredibly heinous anyhow, if you think about it.  Okay, I guess role model would have been a better choice of wording, but you get the idea.

I want to give you a peep into the incredibly average yet incredibly uncommon paradox that is my life.  Real, raw, no-holds-barred.  This is me, this is my life, and this is Tastefully Shameless.

Welcome.

 Riley
